Gumbet is a town on the Bodrum Peninsula, in the south west of Turkey. The resort of Bodrum itself is only 3 km away and can be reached easily by public transport, by bus or even on foot for those who do not mind a bit of walking.
The majority of travellers who are visiting Gumbet are younger couples, groups of friends and families with children. As the town is located in a bay, you have a large beach on your disposition which invites sun worshippers to spend a day here and on which water sports facilities are available.
But the beach is not the only reason why Gumbet becomes more and more popular. It is the huge selection of cafés, restaurants, bars and clubs that attracts tourists. The airport is also just 37 km from Gumbet and those who like to see more of the region can make day trips and discover the surroundings.
There are numerous small villages located on the Peninsula, especially along the cost but there are much more points of interest in the area: Ancient ruins, Greek remains, the Ampitheatre and not to forget the famous 15th century Bodrum Castle in which a museum is situated.
