As there are no international schools in Gumbet or the surroundings, you will have to decide for one of the state or private local schools. Young children who do need to learn Turkish from scratch normally will not have any problems on picking the language up directly in the Preschool. A great alternative to this is the private Marmara College which is located in Bodrum, the largest resort of the Bodrum Peninsula.
There are school buses that pick up children from their home town and also take them back after school finishes. This school differs from the others in the area as it does not only teaches students in Turkish but also has some lessons in English which are taught be native English speaking professional teachers.
At the kindergarten children will slowly start learning the language and after this in Primary School, the Marmara College will offer English aided education in mathematics and science classes. Students of the Marmara College who are visiting the Primary School and the High School will have to wear uniforms during the day. Please note that this is not necessary for children at the kindergarten.
Before you send your child to the Marmara College in Bodrum you will probably be interested in the facilities and services that are featured here. Additional to the bus service, the school also provides modern state of the art facilities, including laboratories for science and English Language. A cafeteria offers breakfast, lunch and tea and during their time at the primary school there will also be school trips, events, competitions and much more.
