This traditional fishing village is largely built on the remains of the ancient town of Myndos and therefore declared an archaeological site. This is the reason why there are no cars allowed in the centre of Gumusluk, which makes it a charming and quiet place to be. The heart of the town invites to go for strolls and the excellent location by the sea gives it a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere.
Gumusluk is just about 20 minutes away from the bustling resort of Bodrum but is the total opposite when it comes to life style. Here you will not find clubs and crowded beaches but romantic fish restaurants by the promenade and traditional cafés from which you can watch the sun go down and can enjoy wonderful views of the natural beaches and the sea.
Definitely worth visiting is the tiny island that can be seen from the mainland. It is close by and often can be reached on foot. Due to the numerous rabbits that are being raised there by a local, the island is known as Rabbit Island. From there you have beautiful and unique views of the bay in which Gumusluk is located.
Whether you are looking for property to purchase in this area or just want to get to know the region, Gumusluk is definitely worth visiting.
