The main attraction in the village of Ylikavak is its picturesque harbour. It is a paradise for all those who love the sea and everything it has to do with it. From the port you will be able to go on diving excursions, join or watch a regatta or simply go to one of the fish restaurants that are located here. Enjoy traditional sea food while watching the world go by or have a drink in a café with views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Yalikavak is also known as the place where the Aegean and the Mediterranean meet. It is a spot of great natural beauty in which it will be easy to forget about the daily stress and the routine. There are some markets during the week where locals sell their goods, which you should not miss during your stay.
Like some other towns and villages in this region, Yalikavak has a traffic free centre which adds a lot to the tranquil and relaxed environment. It is the complete difference to the busy town of Bodrum where most tourists go to sunbathe all day and party all night.
As we have mentioned before, in Yalikavak you have the opportunity to go on diving excursions. One reason why many people take advantage of those facilities is the fact that the oldest wreck in the Aegean Sea is just some kilometres from the harbour. It can be found in a depth of 55 metres.
